Hello!
My name is Katya Rumyantseva.
I am a graphic designer with love for typography and layout.
I studied graphic design in Seattle Central Creative Academy, recognized for its intense and high quality program. A few years prior to joining the graphic design program I started exploring visual arts. I practiced calligraphy, sketching, drawing and later got involved in photography which became my long standing passion. Today I often participate in public events as a volunteer photographer and sometimes take commercial jobs. Since 2022 I have been photographing dress rehearsals and cast portraits for all plays at Bellevue Youth Theatre, on a voluntary basis.
My design is often guided by clarity, function and structure, sometimes with a twist. I draw inspiration from Swiss style and minimalism. My work focuses on editorial layout, infographics, environmental graphics, and photography.
I thrive working within a well-defined design system or set of brand guidelines. I’m organized and meticulous with process, early with deadlines, and thoughtful in collaboration. I also enjoy supporting others with technical or workflow challenges whenever I can.
I spend my free time with my family, enjoying a book, a classic film or deep diving into books and internet learning about fascinating design works (my most recent obsession — New York subway map).
