Rawrly chocolate wants to stand out in a crowded market by supporting the Seattle Zoo. The challenge is to create a bold, playful and attractive packaging that clearly communicates its mission of supporting sustainability and animal care to appeal to younger and environmentally conscious audiences.
Rawrly is a chocolate bar with a bold voice and a wild mission. Wrapped in fully compostable packaging, each bar supports real animals at the Seattle Zoo, combining sustainability and care for nature with visual punch and playful storytelling.
Designed for environmentally conscious urban consumers, Rawrly turns everyday snacking into a small act of care.
Rawrly chocolate is designed to appeal to young environmentally conscious people aged 20 to 45 who want to give back and feel good about it in their busy everyday lives.

Solution

I created Rawrly, a mission-forward chocolate brand that makes supporting the Seattle Zoo simple and rewarding experience embedded in everyday life. Each bar features a real zoo animal (like Gigi the Giraffe or Luna the Snow Leopard), a distinct flavor, and a story on the inside wrapper. The brand identity uses expressive typography, clean composition and animalistic patterns, all wrapped in fully compostable materials. Just like the nature, the design balances wildness and structure and invites shoppers to snack with a purpose.

Unwrapping the bar creates a brief experience of meeting a zoo animal, a charitable component creates a personal connection with a particular animal rather than organization. Variety of animals hidden on the inside of the package create an element of surprize
and collectable potential.

My inspiration came from wild animal patterns, boldly colored panels and playful typography. I combined organic textures with clean design mimicking how nature is transformed and integrated into urban environment.
